“You can sleep when you’re dead” is Hustle Culture's #1 Lie.

Here’s the truth…

Science says our we need to spend 42% of the day in a rest state. Less than that can lead to:

- Lower productivity
- Chronic disease
- Burnout

Magic Rest Formula: 42% = 10 hours
Rest = Not working. Not multitasking.

It reminded me of all the great books I've read in this lane over the past few years.

How did I move from burnout into balance?

I let go of "doing more" to "earn it."

This week I cover non-negotiables, and give two examples of my own time-based rules.

If you’re not taking care of your time, you’re not living a life of intention.

Celebrate Quitting Friday by letting go of bad habits. I'll go first...

Quit: Giving your all.
Start: Giving your best.

Giving your all is a one-way ticket to burnout. 🪫

Feeling burned out heading into the new year? Give yourself permission to:

- Determine 8-10 uninterrupted hours you can be "off"
- Communicate those hours to colleagues/clients
- Stick to them

Always being "on" is the leaky faucet of stress response.

Put your phone in DND.
Go dark.
Sleep.
