Sometime I look around and am like "How did I get here?" in the best way. I have such amazing friends as coworkers. Despite the fact that my team (expectedly) lost today, it was a day that really makes me feel grateful and astonished that I get to do this as a career. <3

Accompanied by Tears for Fears' lyric, "Nothing ever lasts forever," portraits of legacy support player Hong "MadLife" Min-gi and KT Rolster AD carry-turned-jungler Go "Score" Dong-bin heralded the title cards: League of Legends, Champions Korea, Spring 2016. For South Korean League of Legends, it was on the heels of reestablishing their previous dominance. Despite the 2014-15 offseason's "Korean Exodus," which had sent a flood of South Korean League of Legends pros to China's LoL Pro League, South Korea, courtesy of SK Telecom T1, had emerged victorious at the 2015 World Championship. Now, at the beginning of 2016 LCK Spring, the LCK's sophomore season turned its eyes towards legacy players of Madlife, Score, Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, alongside upstart teams like Afreeca Freecs (née Rebels Anarchy), the Tigers with a new prefix (ROX) and a new jungler (Han "Peanut" Wang-ho), and exciting rookie debuts. Everybody wanted to rule the League of Legends world and the best of that world were still here, in South Korea. Kicking off the spring season were defending world champions SK Telecom T1, and CJ Entus, a previous powerhouse now fielding a young patched-together roster with Madlife at the helm. "Part of this new CJ team, it's a waiting game," English-language broadcaster Christopher "Montecristo" Mykles said, "because we're waiting until March, when Bdd and Ghost turn seventeen." Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong was a prodigious mid laner following in the footsteps, as all South Korean mid lane players do, of Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok. This year, SKT T1 had their own prodigious young mid laner, Lee "Scout" Ye-chan who started one LCK game for the team before making his way over to EDward Gaming where he would, years later, win his own worlds title in 2021. Scrim rumors and whispers of Bdd's prowess began in the ramp-up to the 2015 World Championship.
