She/her.
Mad Cat Lady in training.
Highly recommended. They turn a work Christmas function from "unintelligible wall of noise" into a restaurant with conversations happening around the table and background music which actually sounds like music.

"Men lead with logic and women lead with emotion" is only true because you rebranded rage as "not an emotion".

It's never a good sign when it starts with 174 long-distance shots of the outside, but even the statues didn't prepare me for the carousel horses.

At some point the photographer clearly just said "Fuck it. I'll take one shot of everything and let the agent sort it out later".

Apparently he runs a convenience store rather than a fruit shop.

He was shot later. You can see it on film when he's taking cover behind the tree. He sits down and you can see the blood stains.

His name has been given as Ahmed el Ahmed in a variety of news reports, many of which also say he is a 43 year old fruit shop owner and father of two.

"chrome://geckoview/content/config.xhtml" is the mobile version of "about:config", but then it doesn't have "browser.urlbar.update2.engineAliasRefresh".

They don't make it easy.

Damnit!

I just tried the Chromium and Firefox instructions on my android phone browsers, and they both failed at the first step.
Chrome gives a "this site can't be reached" error for "chrome://settings/searchEngines", and "about:config" is apparently disabled on Firefox mobile.

They sometimes play the music from that scene on my local classical music radio station while I'm driving. Even that's enough.

That was my first thought, too.

One of these? They're probably sold in different lengths if that one's not quite right.

I'm an engineer. If I'm going to make mistakes they'll be my own.

I also have a "for someone else" loophole. I can sometimes (very, very rarely) get it to accept Future Me as the other person.

90% is enough to prove you could do it if you really had to. You've done all the interesting bits working out how to do it, so the rest is irrelevant.

Someone in (based on her match notifications) Illinois has recently signed up for a dating site using my email address. I'm tempted to do a password reset and update her profile to say her messages are being sent to Australia, but I'm waiting a bit so she has time to realise and fix her settings.

This is true. Where you look is where you go on a motorcycle. It's useful for getting around a very tight bend, but the way to avoid a pothole or an SUV heading straight for you on the wrong side of the road is to not look at it, and that takes practice.

Huh. Adding my postcode actually reduces the number of local results in a DDG search.
July 26, 2025 at 10:52 AM
The DDG results are no more localised that way than before, but thanks for trying.
DDG is set as my default search engine, but the sad truth is that google is just better at many of the things I need a search engine for.
