I don't disagree, but it's quite easy to implement code found online with no awareness of how it works. (e.g. any time I've used JavaScript.)

Granted, I don't use AI to generate code wholesale, I generally use it to check code that isn't working. I'm not convinced vibe coding won't end the world.

Counter-Point: The vast majority of the code AI was trained on was specifically made available for people to steal.

This is an organization that killed their Future Class program because the members wanted to call for an end to genocide. They likely created the Games for Impact category specifically to quarantine underrepresented cultures.

I suspect the Hard Drive Game Awards will be much better.

I lean toward Itch, but just bought Horses on GOG in appreciation for their public support of the game. Even had to call my credit union and talk to an actual person to get them to authorize an international purchase on my debit card. Worthwhile sacrifice for Valve & Epic to fuck off.

If you want to curtail it, just explain that "chat" is the French word for cat, then miaou every time he does it. Worst case scenario, it backfires and you have an excuse to meow a lot.

I'd feel obligated to make a soup. I wouldn't *eat* the soup, but if someone else wanted to give it a sip, I would probably make a half-hearted argument against it for plausible deniability purposes before asking if they minded me filming it.

Not seeing the context to this initially, my first assumption was you were talking about Sonic the Hedgehog. Still, the imagery almost worked since Sonic isn't pretentious and does have good chili dogs. It fell apart, though, because Sonic runs much better than cybertrucks.

I was several years younger than your kid when my grandma got me a cardboard tipi and told me it contained the spirits of our ancestors. I thought that meant it was haunted and I was terrified to play in it.

Tagging @florencesn.bsky.social in order to shame myself over not having played The Excavation of Hob's Barrow yet, since that's who I learned of the game from (as well as darkwebSTREAMER) and also whose repost of quotepost above set me down this rabbit hole. (I blame the methyphenidate, for that.)

I've only purchased 1 game, A Game About Digging A Hole, in 2025. I obtained 37 games in 2024: 24 via Humble Bundle, 4 that were free, and 9 that I bought during the winter sale that started shortly after receiving my first paycheck in over a year. Of those 9, I've played 4 and beaten 1.

When setting up the tracking project, I set an unofficial goal of playing at least 50% of my Steam games before I am allowed to purchase any new games. There is a tiny whitelist of exceptions, basically @darkwebstreamer.bsky.social , since I've been following it for so long.

For the nosy, the Steam Sale included the above games + Machinarium, Borderlands, Universe Sandbox, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, and Bastion.

I bought Bastion because it was cheap and looked neat. It became my absolute favorite game of all time, still to this day.
