3/3 This time so far in Oslo, among Laureates and world leaders, begs the question: How do we ensure this never happens again? This is the question top of mind in our community today, and every day. I hold deep gratitude for all who commit their time to answering this call.

2/3 I’m honored to spend the week in Oslo, Norway for the Nobel Peace Conference, which is recognizing 2024 Laureate Nihon Hidankyo, a hibakusha movement from Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This recognition cements that the nuclear threat of today demands action.

This declaration must not just be read—it must be acted on. It’s a rallying cry to governments, yes, but also to citizens, funders, and movements. It gives us the language and the momentum to push forward.

Policymakers are not going to act unless the public demands it. That’s why this declaration also calls on scientists, civil society, and faith leaders to step forward and create pressure from the ground up.

This declaration is not just a warning—it's a roadmap. It’s a call from Nobel Laureates and nuclear experts to stop sleepwalking into disaster and start taking practical, immediate steps to reduce nuclear risk.

Earlier in the day, a declaration of recommendations was signed for policymakers and leaders to reduce the threat of nuclear war. I am honored to have been one of the signatories of the declaration. A thread of my takeaways ⬇️
