I don't reply to non sequiturs
How many more years will local leadership wring their hands and say we must do better?

And you don't speak for Portland.
December 22, 2025 at 7:55 PM
I would hope everyone wants to eradicate houselessness.

This has nothing to do with gender.
December 22, 2025 at 7:28 PM
It also shows in your adolescent hostility.

Too many DSA members have a flaw that rw evangelicals do: they refuse to accept the possibility that most Americans don't like their prescriptions for how to fix our problems, and they're not very good at making arguments that don't alienate the people they need to persuade to assume power

How long have you lived in Portland again?
December 22, 2025 at 6:53 PM
Did you explore how Vienna did this with its turn of the century heroin crisis?
December 20, 2025 at 8:43 PM
This is a$$hole politics.

The original one was busting at the seams with little kids in the play area waaaay back in the early 2000s. So many more little children in the hood then.

I live in Portland and agree with you. The new builds here are just too tiny to think about downsizing to. Pre war apartments were so much more human-scaled

The main living area looks like a studio hotel room. Sofa right there across from kitchen counter.

If Portland/PPS had real traffic guards that would go a long way. Our K-8 was located on a busy street and either had child guards, volunteer parent guards for a short time, and mostly no guards.

The portland DSA councilors run on grievance...

i like this building and it will probably date better than a lot of the Modern boxy stuff built/planned during the MCM craze. Would love to see the inside
December 14, 2025 at 8:52 PM
Sounds like they are also sidestepping the purpose of districts.
December 14, 2025 at 3:39 AM
It sounds like they may have broken a public meeting law. What is up with their banding together anyhow? Not what I voted for. Not how I like my pdx politics. I miss the policy nerds in suits of 20 yrs ago.
December 14, 2025 at 3:04 AM
This feels pretty trumpy to me, both the "laws don't apply to us" look and the excuse.
December 14, 2025 at 2:50 AM
But first....what were these councilors thinking? Really not a good look, is it.
December 14, 2025 at 2:36 AM
Imagine people have this luxury!

AI???

Interesting.

It depends on the city. Right to shelter cities have few of their homeless population sleeping on the street. Cities like Portland without this right have half their population on the street.
