Some great answers here for anyone curious. Love any story where a city employee gets to say, “It went really crazy after that,” in response to a question about what happened to the street grid after Van Buren
Are Phoenix's presidential streets in any order?

Slightly embarrassing that I still remember this but I really loved that instead of "Taylor Street" they made it "Zack Street" (presumably to avoid confusion b/c it's only a few blocks from Tyler Street...?) President Zack.

I saw Phoenix goes from Monroe to Van Buren and was like, okay, got it, a city that's firmly Anti-Jacksonian. But they do have Jackson! Except he's next to Buchanan! Phoenix was not incorporated as a city until 1881! How did this happen????

What a year for women's basketball events in cities where the street grid is named after presidents but not logically. (Final Four in Tampa, which skips Fillmore and then has Pierce crossing Tyler/Harrison/Polk, WNBA Finals in Phoenix, which has them all jumbled... I'll never know peace...)

Column: The WNBA would have to invest time and money to fix some of the structural problems behind its officiating woes. And the longer it goes without investing in any of those potential changes, the question for the league is not what it’s saving, but what it’s costing itself.
The Answer to the WNBA’s Officiating Issues Is Pretty Clear
The 2025 playoffs are revealing the league’s questionable officiating, and there is no better time than now to seriously invest in fixing it.

From back in May: “Her recognition of her value, I think, has been her greatest evolution."

The project was a stretch for Collier. In her early years with the Lynx, the organization had encouraged her to participate in public speaking opportunities and brand partnerships, believing that she needed to grow those skills in order to be the next face of the franchise. (“We worked hard to put her in those situations,” Reeve says. “The knowledge grows, the comfort grows, the overall confidence grows.”) But she steadily became more confident as a leader and more balanced as a person. While she was growing as a player, Collier also became a team captain, a union officer and a mother. (She gave birth to daughter Mila in 2022.) She kept listening and kept asking questions.

“Her recognition of her value, I think, has been her greatest evolution,” Reeve says.

Looking forward to one day removing my giant credential lanyard before sitting down to eat after a game. Terrible lifetime record to date here but I’m sure it’ll happen eventually.

My very good buddy and overall sweet little guy Fisher took a bad tumble this morning and is racking up medical bills. I know times are tough, but if you can spare a few bucks for his recovery we would be so grateful. www.gofundme.com/f/fisher-rec...

Always kind of surprised when an adult gets their appendix taken out... coded very strongly in my brain as a child's ailment. And I think my only reason for that is Madeline.
