Yes, I've experienced this. So this means you have to pass because?

I mean, honestly probably better than pouring water on it. Or trying to pick up the flaming toaster. I like the pause to consider next steps. This conversation is really reminding me that I should get a fire blanket for my kitchen....

My dad, a bit of an autist I think, was like.... "And ...?"
December 14, 2025 at 5:09 AM
Ok younger but toaster fire related - when I was like 10 or 11 the toaster caught aflame. Like flames shooting out the top of the toaster. I did not know what to do, so I ran out to our driveway (where my dad was hiding to smoke a cigarette of shame) screaming "the toast is burning!"

Ok the first house I rented when I was 19 I did not know how to tell apart an unfamiliar washer and dryer. I just assumed the machine on the left was the washer because that was how it was in my parents house. I put my dirty clothes in the dryer and was so confused as to why they came out dry

Hmmmmm walk me through how that fact is a counter argument to my statement

Pause and consider - why do you "have to pass something"? VERY rarely does anyone need to pass another car. They want to because they want to speed

Thanks! I wasn't logged in to Facebook so I think that was my issue

Where is this from? I just tried to find this social media page to get more details and I can't find it on Sen Hoffman's Instagram or FB

I googled her obituary and later in life, after her first husband died, she went to clown school and developed an alter ego named Bubbles. What a champ www.boylanfuneralservices.com/obituaries/O...

Voters could take individual responsibility, sure. I did that in the sense that I felt clear in who I was voting for and why. But I think most politicians could learn something from Zohran's approach to messaging and communications

I am following the local elections the same way I follow the NYC elections - reading articles, watching social media content, I follow both you and WedgeLive, I've read their websites. I'm not failing to pay attention but their platforms are not anywhere near as clear and focused as Zohran's

Agree with this. Mariame Kaba posted on here asking people to name 3 policy proposals that Mamdani supported. I live in Minneapolis and could easily name 3. I could not do the same for Fateh, Davis, or Hampton here in Minneapolis

I support rent control btw! And I'm down for my property taxes to go up if they are being used to support my neighbors. Just homeownership is a harder road than it got made out to be

I feel like my housing costs go up faster as a homeowner than as a renter, and they are WAY more unpredictable (surprise $20k sewer line repair)
November 5, 2025 at 7:39 PM
I'm a newish homeowner & I was surprised how much my monthly payment DOES go up every year. When I bought in 2021 my monthly payment was around $1150. This year it was $1265, and next year it will be $1380. When I was a renter, my monthly payment went from $550 to $720 from 2013 - 2021

The workers who are still here are under more and more pressure

Yes. Thank God I am not job hunting but my work (public library) is in a hiring freeze with no end in sight. I used to feel like I could give useful guidance on getting hired but now I'm just like 😬😬😬 pray for all of us that they decide to post at some point in the next year?

Same thing I think! Minneapolis Issues was an e-democracy list and then there were neighborhood ones too. Ahh the good old days

It's also a great game if you have never played.
