But they do become very problematic when someone becomes immunocompromised. As some have mentioned, COVID, transplants, cancer treatments, and some other medical treatments that can be immunocompromising (?) are on the rise.

Usually through inhaling spores though I’m not a medical mycologist. These molds are pretty ubiquitous indoors and outdoors and are quite resistant to antifungals, so they’re hard to get rid of! For most people though, they’re harmless. Berry enjoyers have almost definitely eaten some!

Full disclosure: I’m not a medical mycologist, but it is most often contracted by immunocompromised people through the inhalation of spores. These fungi are common bread / berry molds, and they are just absolutely everywhere! The problem is they’re quite resistant to antifungals
