I wrote my first Python in 2012, and immediately fell in love with the language. I'm honored that I am a part of, and can give back to, such an amazing, welcoming community!

A few more features I know I will be using frequently:
- delayed annotation evaluation (less need for from __future__ import annotations)
- the external debugger
- the new repl features and a lot of new color output

I'm also excited to experiment more with subinterpreters!

Python 3.14.0, the first stable release, is out!

And it comes with a spiffy logo! discuss.python.org/t/python-3-1...

free-threading stable, subinterpreters, zstandard, too many others to list!

Today is not Friday, but it's still a good day to support these groups. Do you use Python at work? If so, does your employer sponsor or contribute to the PSF and the Python packages you depend on?

Happy Friday. It is a good day to support your open source foundations, maintainers, and communities.

Did you know your MacBook has a sensor that knows the exact angle of the screen hinge?

It’s not exposed as a public API, but I figured out a way to read it and make it sound like an old wooden door.
