Aspiring author. Formerly-voracious reader. I live with 3 cats named after authors, a baby named after a bird, and a very tolerant husband.
I know the Olympics is bread and circuses but damn like I need something to distract from the clown show

Watching the Olympics I keep being impressed by how hard the drones are working to just... Not actually keep up with the humans rushing along ice and snow with strips of carbon fiber or whatever underneath their fragile fleshy bodies.

When a med's side effect can include nausea, but also the allergy/overdose/poor reaction can ALSO include nausea, where is the line? Is there a chart? How nauseated is normal and how much is "go to ER"

If I read/hear/see another white author/podcaster/YouTuber make another damn kintsugi metaphor I am going to riot.

I'm not into hockey, and I'm not even into contemporary romance, but since the series has unlimited Libby checkouts til V day I guess that's what I'm reading because???? It's there?!

After debating a day about it, I decided to take the time and import January’s reads into #Storygraph but may loop back and finish updating 2025 and 2024 later. But I’m going to keep on top of 2026!

And baby 🐦's other favorite book cat this month is the cat who appears in "My Big Book of Spanish Words" by Rebecca Emberley.

Whenever we get to this page, he always bounces and reaches for the cat to touch it.

I was gonna start posting what books I read for January but realized my baby's book rankings might be more fun.

8mo. baby 🐦's fave book, Jan 2026:
Hi, Cat. Bye, Cat. by Jade Orlando

No contest. I offer 2 books and read the one he reaches for, and this one ALWAYS wins against every other book.

Is it worth it to import my last 3 ish years of reading history into Storygraph when I currently have it all written in a notebook?

Or do I just start with this year since I'm only 10 books in?
