It’s not that I think he’s likely to pass anti trans legislation, but even before day one of his presidency, candidates are planning to follow suit.

Delaying the inevitable is still good, if that’s the only option on the table, but we are in the position now to put another option on the table.

I see this as a major step in the slow walk towards a two party agreement on trans issues like in the UK, with the dems chasing the republicans narrative forever.

he would have won despite the activism of trans people and their allies, and he won after pivoting toward the conservative position.

In the event that Newsom becomes the democratic candidate, the best case outcome is his victory over the republicans, but that will 100% be read by the pundit and political class as the final vindication of throwing trans people under the bus as the winning dem strategy.

Have to also say, across the board, admin arent really beating the allegations under this administration. They have capitulated at almost every turn and at most institutions. Meanwhile it’s the faculty, grad students, & undergrads who have both stood up and paid the costs. Christy is doing gods work
