A RBH librarian said around 43% of the population had a reading of below 11 but the reading age of NHS documents is written for age 14-16 meaning that these are not accessible to almost half the population.
Wainwright admits that apps are not always the way forward.

A working therapist in the audience suggested a diagnosis app that helps cut costs on the NHS but allows patients to see what may be wrong.

“We’re finding that people are downloading an making suggestions and we are taking on patient involvement”

The “what I would like to say… whatever it takes” project aimed to understand the experience of neurodivergent and disabled cancer patients.
This highlights the inequalities in the NHS to try build upon and change.

Projects are being done by the hospital since 2017 to help the homeless.
These include creative poetry workshops to help understand the lives of people living on the streets.

Research done with University Hospital Dorset is into helping people who are less likely to come into Hospital, who normally come from lower economical backgrounds.
They are looking into what makes hospitals more appealing to these people.

With more research into chain it has been revealed that patients that pick the new CHAIN program will need 8hrs of treatment compared to 1hr15minutes of normal Physio.

Tom explained more about CHAIN.
With this programme 86% of patients participated in either a home programme or a 30 minute cycling group.
After surveying they had 45% of patients not need to return for surgery.
57% avoided surgery all together.

This helps people with Osteoarthritis.
