Unfortunately, ACL is not currently recognized as a Chinese entity, and invitation letters issued by ACL therefore cannot be guaranteed for use in F visa applications. We therefore strongly recommend exploring visa-free entry, transit visas, or a tourist (L) visas before considering an F visa.

At the moment, there are three options for attendees:
- Visa-free entry: short-term entry without a visa is allowed for citizens of several countries
- Transit visa: for travelers passing through China en route to a third country
- Tourist visa (L): is available to applicants from all countries

Typically, workshop organizers receive one free registration code that they can use as they think best (e.g., for one of the organizers, for an invited speaker, etc). That should also be the case here, and hopefully your team has already received that code!

Yes, as a workshop organizer, you will need to register if are planning on attending. Invitation letters are typically issued once someone has registered for in-person attendance. There are many questions about this at the moment, which is likely why those you have emailed have been slow to respond.
