Today while walking along the beach thinking about what microplastics do to us, I chased off a seagull that was trying to eat this. Come on humans! We can do better. Stop using these take-away containers at the very least! #plastics #plastic #marine #seagulls #beachwaste

Goodbye enchiladas that I spent the evening making and then just as I assembled them into a Pyrex dish placed on the hot burner… the dish exploded. Pyrex can only handle so much.

Four young colleagues of my husband fired for being young and competent. They were part of our future. This is why citizens around the nation are out there with their flags and signs despite the wind and snow and ice #science #standup

Recent trip to DC. Was a beautiful day. But the backwards flags mirrored how I was feeling about this place right now.

A stretch of the mighty Connecticut River in MA. What’s left after it has been pumped to a reservoir and corralled into a canal. Has been this way for decades by Big Utility. I would love for this river to live a little better. #water#aquaticlife #environment#science #bigbusiness #sustainabilty

A gift to myself, a little less plastic with my coffee. New glass coffee maker. I have no idea how much might leach in when I press but cannot imagine it is none. What I do know is that at least on the day I peed in a cup I had more BPA and phthalates in my urine than the average citizen.

Train trip to DC to learn about toxic chemical regulation and dysregulation. Toxicology is my 🧪 home and I wish one day we will no longer need it. More than a little worried that we really can do worse than Scott Pruitt administrating our chemical exposures. #science #environment #toxic
