IIrc excel and sheets are commonly used for modeling systems and checking whether math works out before they're implemented.

e.g. You put your table of weapons in an rpg in an excel document and check that some math around it works out.

This game has juice in it's bugs, it's very rare that I find them annoying even when they get in the way of what I want to do.
