I can agree with you about my ignorance about Elon or US history! But in 60s or 70s my country was a free country and the 5th power in the world and now it's under the dictatorship of an islamic regime!!!

He finished his BS in an Iranian university with top scores and Stanford waited 2 years for him to finish his military service to be able to get out of Iran!!! that's for me a proof of skill based acceptance!

I know that I don't know a lot about racial situations in the US, but one of my friends (from Iran) has applied for US universities in the late 90's and was accepted in Stanford with scholarship and free housing and a job for his masters!!!
It's more about skills than race for me!

But don't you think that from 30 years ago there are more competitions and less places?
My daughter in Iran had to compete with more students than when I tried the entrance exam!
