On this day in 1896, an Austrian Jewish woman was born. Living in France, she was sent to Drancy transit camp with her daughter. On the the 2 Sep 1942 they were deported to Auschwitz where they perished. Her elder daughter survived. Her name was Berthe Smetana

According to Republicans, when someone is slaughtered by an assault rifle it's the shooter's fault and nothing can be done but if someone dies of a drug overdose it's the drugs' fault and we have to bomb foreign countries and kidnap their leaders

Kind of makes me sad to hear we’re gonna have two days of almost 70° weather next week in East Tennessee. I want the seasons back.
On a lighter note, the sun didn’t go as far south this year. So maybe that means some ice glaciers are reforming in the Antarctic.
