I hated any story not written in third person narrative when I was a child. After all, what self-respecting story isn't written in that way?

And then I got into Sherlock Holmes stories as an older child, as you do. I soon got used to the new style!

That lake would have to be dragged. I'd get a team on that while I searched the area for signs that might give me some kind of a clue: disturbed ground, torn fabric, blood, etc.
