a beautifully emotional novel that takes its time exploring identity, queerness, immigration, and the hispanic experience. i loved this book for its tenderness and the way it lingers in your mind long after you turn the last page.

a wonderful read that balances dark themes with a light tone. phoebe was very relatable for me and i loved getting to know her, gary, and lila throughout the book. this book was lighthearted, funny, and thought provoking and i definitely recommend.
