In that video the torch sends about 1 second of each signal for the first 3 sensors as they don't care about timing then it sends the signal for the 4th sensor forever as that sensor cares about timing and you have to drift into sync, which is why it takes ~15 seconds or so to open.

You can make up the difference with elmers glue.
