I'm fine with him falling asleep at work, it is his repeated waking up that bums me out.

I got to SV in '97 and got out in '05. It was not like this. The PayPal/dot-com assholes ruined it. It was great.

I think this is the point most missed. Right now I am a citizen by the constitution. To strip me of it requires an amendment, or SCOTUS making up bullshit; only the latter is possible.

If my citizenship isn't from the constitution, then I am a citizen at the whim of Congress, which will be stacked.

Just FYI, most people I know are now using Venmo instead of PayPal. Maybe add that as an option..

Does anyone compensate you for all of your great work, or are you 100% volunteer?

Maybe for the same reason as Russia? Western Europe shows what is possible with democracy, healthcare, standard of living for the average Joe, etc.

They trample on the Constitution every day, why not tomorrow too?

Again, adding a few seats to SCOTUS is now the baseline "moderate" position in the face of this authoritarian nonsense.

The real, serious reforms need to go much, much further:
If/when Democrats regain control of Congress, the path is clear. No clerks. No building. No shadow docket. Nothing, until you stop ignoring the law, data, history, precedent, & the plain meaning of words in the Constitution. And there will be 25 of you, with 9 chosen by lottery for any one case.
Again, because the 9 Wizards In Robes, of both parties, believe they & SCOTUS are entitled by God to be an all-powerful Super-legislature, adding seats (& slashing the clerks/building budget, & making them ride the circuit, etc.) has now become the only serious “moderate” & “pro-democracy” position.
