Any project starts out better if it's made for the creator first. Any other audience is negligible. I hope progress will at least stay steady! And when you feel ready, I would really enjoy being able to be able to read what you come up with. Inkslayer sounds like such a fun TTRPG, already.

There are a lot of different styles this kind of concept can manifest into mechanically, so you would be at an advantage to build it modularly. That just complicates testing, but at the end of the day, it's up to you on how solid you want the system to get.

I'm not sure if this is what you're going for, but if you're trying to connect up multiple stories in one go you could label each chunk with a Genre and have Limits labeled the same way and your only able to continue with the story if how the maxed out tale leeds to the same genre of another one.

Do you have any experience with Legend in the Mist? It has a base system akin to PbtA, but its Challenge system along with resolving them through maxing out Limits could be a useful mechanic for you to look into.

Smaller ideas have a habit of being like snow, with bigger ideas being snowballs gathering them up when you get them rolling.
Good luck TTRPG designing!

Can confirm. Got a little plastic duck from Cruella De vil at @evilleconofficial.bsky.social this year. (It would have been plastic puppies but they were too expensive. Regardless, it was awsome of them. Besides, you shouldn't look a gift duck in the bill)
