My optimistic thought of the day: Maybe this is what has to happen to destroy the white Christian patriarchy. Have them disassemble all existing systems and rules, collapse under their own weight, so we can rebuild a more just government and society. I’m not that optimistic.

There is nothing conservative about the far right in the USA. They are anarchists, dedicated to tearing down what made the US the strongest economy in the world during the last century, ie an economy based on a thriving middle class. All because POC benefitted from that economy too.

We are a country of citizens who want instant gratification and who don’t plan for the long term. Jimmy Carter was the President we needed. Reagan was the President we deserved. This is NOT Praise of Reagan.

As someone in recovery from a drinking problem, I can assure you that, if there are anonymous rumors someone has a drinking problem, those rumors are most likely true.

We shouldn’t accept that a CEO killer must get a national manhunt when cops don’t solve most murders at all. A migrant teenager was just murdered in NYC, cops just killed a guy here — the lives of these other people are worth just as much as that CEO.
