The last half of the meeting was a discussion in small groups about what we want from schools. Which I appreciate, but also, I don’t think it’s any kind of mystery. We want a quality education for all kids. The question is how do we get that? And what tradeoffs do we make?

MPS will host the following meetings focused on budget and school transformation from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

• Dec. 5 at South High School
• Dec. 10 at Roosevelt High
• Dec. 11 at Southwest High
• Dec. 16 at Edison High
• Jan. 14 at Camden High

Their definition:
“MPS' transformation is a district-wide effort to reimagine a district where every student thrives - academically, socially, and emotionally - through a holistic, culturally sustaining education that engages and prepares contributing citizens.”
Doesn’t address budget

Five year projections if nothing changes. State revenue is going down, costs are going up.

Also, they’ve been saying we aren’t going to talk about that (yet) for more than a year. It would be nice if they actually said when that conversation is going to happen.

That’s a perfect description

It might have been Jesus. It was something “Christian” and ammo. 100% ammo. They had easily 80 different sayings but they were all conservative coded. I wanted to point out that those customers are too scared to visit our burnt down husk.

There was a crowd, which makes me think people are crazing something to bring the family to downtown. But it was an inaudible poetry reading. There just wasn’t any there there.

That was a waste of a drive for me and my kids. Saw the ads for it, thought there would be a lot more than there was. We spun through in about 15 minutes and left. Gaviidae was totally dead. Dayton’s was selling embroidered hand towels saying “mama needs church and ammo” 🤦‍♂️

Last week I was at a conference in reforming justice and someone used the analogy of police to population is a domestic abuse sitatuation. And the cops still blame us, their victims, and still refuse to acknowledge their part in it. They are trained pros, with military grade weapons.

I’m still thinking about his. The way they use the excuse of one or two people being unruly to attack an entire peaceful crowd. They literally shoved us around for an ambulance to get through a road that was blocked by unoccupied HSI vehicles. Assholes with guns always blame the unarmed protesters.

Her defense today was “cook books are my porn, I don’t judge yours”. Which really ends the conversation. 🤣

The MPD also said they didn’t violate theirs on June 3. These ordinances are purposefully written to not actually provide sanctuary or separation.

SPPD, I’m so used to complaining about MPD I’m forgetting the extra P.

Why did SPD gas us?
What’s the point of a separation policy if they are going to show up and attack us anyway?

SPD gassed me and hundreds of peaceful protesters after ICE brutalized one of us, claiming it was to get an ambulance through a street that had 4-6 federal vehicles stacked up jamming it. No ambulance was going to be able to get down that street. This was an outrageous use of force.

They claimed it was to get an ambulance through a street that had 5+ federal vehicles jammed up. If they had come in from the end of the block with a stretcher, or the actual ambulance we would have moved out of the way. I have filed a complaint with SPD.
