That, and if our public transit was just a lil more accessible. Its pretty decent compared to other NA cities but its Piss compared to EU/Asia

it seems like illinois+indiana is like the closest to the equator u can get where ppl have to *regularly* leave their trucks running overnight to prevent the lines from freezing during the winter lmfao

This was early Dec too, so like not even at the point in the winter where being outside here is a legitimate health risk

being in chicago during the winter may be bad for an out-of-towner, but being confined to your domicile while its -15F with a 35mph -40F windchill outside would be Agony LMFAO

the thing that only makes it funnier is that xeal has visited family in iran dozens upon dozens of times over the years and not once viewed it with the same sorrowful expression they do with chicago despite all the negativity associated with the country, whether completely imagined or horribly real

There are obviously points to be made about the police, the economic disparity, cost of living, governmental institutions, etc but thats ALL of the US man.

Chicago has all the cultural benefits of living in manhattan or near manhattan without all the evil noise and garbage. Its a great city. People talk shit about it like its a fucking warzone but theyve never been here — a lot of them are just racist
