We’ve been flying United for years (points card + decent flights out of our six-gate airport) and opted for American on our last trip. Regretted every single second of it. United might be a little more $ but totally worth it IMO.

Someone (I think @jarvob.bsky.social) was saying it isn’t necessarily that we take our foot off the gas for lower table teams, so much as they treat us like a cup final and give it absolutely everything. Which is what we did to Coventry so I can’t even be mad about it.

Yeah, and I think there’s space for both Scarr and Doyle in the back three. Gets more complicated once Brunt is healthy again—he’s very good but prone to self-flagellation and I don’t know how accommodating Parky can be to that deep in the season.

Doyle came out like he had a point to prove, which he hasn’t really done previously. I think Scarr’s steadiness is just as important—having that calm in the back line is crucial and Scarr brings that at least as much as Max, almost as much as Hyam, sans panic that I think Doyle can succumb to.

Pro tips: Smitten Kitchen recipe is near perfection. 1/4tsp kosher salt makes all the difference. And take your time whisking the cocoa and heavy cream into a paste and then SLOWLY adding more cream. The more it’s whisked, the better the final texture and the less chance of cocoa lumps.

Pretty much my least favorite thing. But I haven’t had an overnight since late spring so can’t complain too much I guess. And it’ll still be dark when I get home so should be able to go right to bed.
