It sucks to suck. I get it. I live it. It's tempting to bypass a perceived lack of skill and use AI to "create" something seemingly skillful. It gets you that dopamine hit. But it's ultimately spilling your seed on the ground. You feel a small sense of accomplishment, and nothing new is created.

Seeing art you want to emulate but being unable to do so is step one of the artistic process. For everyone.

How you get from desire to creation defines everything about your art. It's the crux of the issue. Using the AI Slop Machines to "create" robs us of whatever you actually had to offer.

Andor was great. I enjoyed it and maintain that it's important art, in part because it acknowledges that we gaze at the hopeful future across a river of blood
