@Thales Allow me to explain briefly why you definitely need to replace a mediocre Sumerologist. First, let us look back at the history of Slitherer bodysnatching and examine why your previous infiltrations went wrong, and how Sumerology could have prevented that ... 1/593

"mutual aid is when a portion of my income is automatically withdrawn from my paycheck and reassigned to prosocial programs by an executive committee. we determine which programs get mutual aided by participating in public voting assemblies, or sending delegates from our community to speak for us."

I actually really enjoyed the Catan novel by Rebecca Gablé that I'm not sure has ever been translated lol. I imagine this will be based on the 2023 novel by Teuber though?

And even if that weren't the case, tiktok influencer feels like the kind of "job" even titled and landed nobility would consider appropriate. Like a British earl who does a bit of finance or ~media~ on the side.

In this analogy, that makes Trump Hammurapi. Don't like that.

Mime is explicitly "the wisest" of smiths (per Wotan). Remember he forged the Ring and the Tarnhelm. The Ring ofc gets its power from Alberich's rape, but the Tarnhelm is all Mime. Fittingly, it's a tool of deceit, cowardice and - eventually - rape, unlike the "honest and straightforward" Nothung.

There may also be an element of RW (who lived a lavish lifestyle in Paris) feeling humiliated by having to repeatedly ask Meyerbeer for money, introductions, and other favours (which he got).
August 19, 2025 at 12:19 AM
I think a great deal of it was jealousy--RW felt he was owed the respect and financial success Meyerbeer had. His actual feelings towards Meyerbeer the person seem to have been complex; he didn't start slandering him until after his death afaik and later supposedly dreamed of a reconciliation.
