He/him or they/them
Fuck the Republicans and the LCMS for being evil, and fuck the Democrats for doing nothing.

They risked everything in their homeland, siding with the US, in a lost cause. And now, to add insult to injury, ICE goes door to door looking for them. If we, the US, weren't a fucking joke of a country and we were actually serious about our debts, this wouldn't be happening.

I remember fishing on the lake with Hmong kids. Trying food WAY too spicy for me. The piece-of-shit Lutherans I am from, the LCMS, lost interest when it became obvious the Hmomg wouldn't assimilate, would keep their language, would keep their culture, wouldn't convert en masse.

I'm old now, but I wasn't in the 80s when Lutherans in the upper Midwest were bringing over Hmong people from Vietnam because they sided with the US....and now my cynical self sees they were also looking for people to convert.

Note, I don't think this is something that is consciously done mostly. This is just how lots of we humans work.

This is not how you win independents. This is how you create a release valve so people who are starting to feel bad about what's going on can dump their personal anxiety by building a personal story that "my guys" are questioning what's going on without doing anything.

Senator Baldwin posts at least 3 to 4 times as much on X, the CSAM generator and Nazi friendly platform, as she does here on Bluesky.
January 9, 2026 at 7:26 PM
I will go further. I will never vote for any person who worked in Senator Baldwin's office during Trump's second term.
January 9, 2026 at 6:59 AM
I will never vote for Sen. Baldwin again because I don't vote for Republicans.

We should hate them as much as ICE.

Wait, they are paying people for no longer doing a particular job? I want that.

The podcast "Behind the Bastards" wrestled with this question in a couple episodes.

My wrong answer is that they are some kind of Gyrinidae.
November 8, 2025 at 6:54 AM
Maybe, but you also just sold me a copy of the print zine.
November 6, 2025 at 3:18 AM
Remember when you voted to confirm Secretary of Agriculture Rollins and sent out stupid form letters justifying it with your "best person for the job" nonsense? Secretary Rollins is choosing this. At least you're not voting to confirm judges, like some of your Democratic colleagues are STILL doing.

"Dear God, was the time traveler right?? Is there really an asshole named David Barton in the future that says all that fabricated bullshit about us? And people believe it? What the fuck, God?"

And I read it as it's ok to respect the pipeline of expertise, the domain of expertise for statisticians, but the pipeline of expertise, the domain of expertise, for coders, among other things, isn't that important.
October 9, 2025 at 10:25 PM
Maybe it's because I come from the IT side of things, but I guess I got frosty at your dismissal of the "it's just code" while respecting your own domain of statistics. That just code is the result of who knows how many hours of human coders who have solved R coding problems over and over.

with how some of the actions you are choosing in that AI experience square with you broader opinion of AI.
October 9, 2025 at 9:58 PM
My problem is this. I kept getting stuck that the point at the end, which I agree with about needing time and people, did NOT seem to square with most of the experience you wrote about for using AI. I've had to read a lot more of your writing to understand your perspective, and I still struggle
