I play video games and watch some anime. I don't post much, I mostly just repost art I like and occasionally reply.

Fire Emblem • Pokémon • Xenoblade • Metroid • Super Mario • etc.
The pinche example is very interesting, because we don't use that word at all in Spain. The insult is exclusive to LATAM dialects (not sure if all of them or just a couple), and the meat stick we would call pincho instead. "Un pincho de ternera" for example.

I have next to no exposure to Puerto Rican Spanish, so hearing your thoughts is actually really cool to me :)

Espero que te lo pases bien jugando en español~

Just for the record, I am trained in translation and currently specializing in video game localization, so I can probably shed some light or throw some educated guesses at any localization choices, if you're interested.

That *is* a common greeting over here, but I 100% do not picture Soren of all people using it so casually lol. From what I recall, I think Radiant Dawn did a better job at characterization in Spanish.

Oh and the shortened words I bet are a remnant from the GBA era, where space mattered a lot more.

My first language is Castilian Spanish, so it's cool to see you enjoy the game with the same translation I did! I am curious to know which expressions that I take for granted are actually weird when you see them for the first time.
