Bostonian. Non-driver. Frustrated with my transit choices. Love animals (especially cats), science, mysteries, and cheesy musicals.
I'm happy to be home on leave right about now.

I feel like the green line has been delayed by drivers getting stuck on tracks 4-5 times a year in the past couple of years.

I feel your pain.

I timed my surgery so that I wouldn't have to deal with this. The OL starts too late, so those of us who rely on the earliest downtown trains don't have any choice but to walk, spend hundreds of dollars on Ubers, or be late. I wish they'd at least add in an earlier OL train for us.

Good questions, as always. One day I hope to get an answer as to why the green line riders are so often viewed as an afterthought, and often a nuisance.

..and yet again they refuse to provide alternatives of any kind in the downtown area. I'm glad I'm on leave because my only alternatives to get to LMA before 6 am would be walking or taking an Uber (about $250 that I can't really afford).

Please invite Mr. Eng, and others involved, to try getting around on the earliest green line trains as well as buses to and from Haymarket. I feel like it would help a lot if we knew that somebody was taking the time to meet us and listen to our needs. Unfortunately a lot of people have given up.
December 3, 2025 at 6:28 PM
Every time there's a shutdown like this, I ask why no alternatives are given for those of us who use the earliest green line train, since the orange line starts 30-60 minutes later, depending on the day. And I would like to have them explain why they chose such a busy time of year also.
December 3, 2025 at 6:25 PM
I timed a foot surgery so that I'd be off work during this shutdown. The OL doesn't start early enough to serve the early morning green line customers, and the 39 can barely handle its regular riders, let alone E line riders. I invite Mr. Eng to get up early enough to talk with these customers.

People have gotten the idea that public transit is a form of welfare, and so naturally it has to be eliminated. Bunch of jerks.

I am glad to see this! Even though the location isn't perfect for people taking transit from here, hopefully at least some of them will choose not to drive all the way into the city.

He wishes he could be charismatic. Is it any wonder that no amount of money is ever enough for him?

Yes! You have nailed it.

Don't toddlers always say "you made me do that!" after being told they did something wrong?

Let me guess, the ICE officer never bothered to learn about gun safety?

I picked a really bad day to have the flu. I really wanted to be there. :(

His lust for killing reminds me of this line from Burr, by Gore Vidal (except the bookish part, of course): "Like so many bookish men who have never been to battle, Jefferson enjoyed the threat of bloodshed."

Exactly. Rich Democrats like tax cuts just as much as rich Republicans.

But to MAGA, anyone left of Drumpf and his keystone cops is a far left loonie. Go figure.
October 4, 2025 at 10:36 PM
even better

That character is way too cool looking to be Drumpf, though. I'd suggest an obese version of Gollum.

The real sad part of this is that if you looked at a platform of a Republican candidate in the 1950s, it would seem more liberal than one from a more recent Democrat candidate.

Sounds like it's time to make sure you have some cash hidden away somewhere.

He's Horst Wessel.

Looks a little like Bell's palsy, too... but yeah, it's probably a stroke.
