Praise be to our corporate overlords and the almighty shareholder value. For it is thee that we exist for. Yours is the market share, the economic power, and the maximum shareholder value, now and in perpetuity and synergy. Amen.

My *sense router (old desktop) has a ton of 10GbE ports. Now I'm LACP'ing them to my MikroTik switch for no good reason other than "why not!?". Not like I'm gonna route that fast anyway. BUT I CAN!

A part of me also wants to investigate ripping apart older Dell or Lenovo 10GbE switch, replacing fans, and figuring out a better ventilation solution for my not-so-dense network rack.
Like I'm not in a fuckin jam-packed datacenter. Let's just dissipate the heat thru radiation and quieter fans.

Super quiet, low power. Probably overkill on switchport density. There's cheaper models out there with less ports if you want to save a few bucks.

I settled on MikroTik. The latest SwOS supports PFC/ETS for my S2D needs. The UI and CLI is a bit clunky at first, especially around VLAN trunking, but after watching some YouTube videos, I've sorted most of it out.
I ended up going with this as my "core switch".

In other words, if you submit a PIM request and later add people to the approver list, they will not be able to retroactively approve your earlier request.
I reckon this is done to prevent some backdoor PIM approver attack? Or it's an oversight/bug. 🤷♂️

Did we ever get a ROM of this?
