Kevin Fedarko has quickly become one of my favorite nonfiction authors. I loved A Walk in the Park almost as much as The Emerald Mile!

I had a great time at the Rural STEM Learning Summit this week. I gave a presentation on our efforts to integrate wildlife into K-12 education with a focus on wildlife crossing structures. I also attended some great sessions and networked with amazing educators!

Bummed to hear about the Grand Canyon’s North Rim Lodge burning down last night. I was lucky enough to visit a few times. Sad to see a little piece of history gone.

Love these guys. Yes, I see them all around my house but it is cool to know that they enjoy the #grandcanyon as well. Desert spiny lizards are so prehistoric looking. Love their spines and cool colors.

So I did a thing. Went on a long walk. Through the #GrandCanyon.

Took 19 hours but complete south-to-north #Rim2Rim hike. It was one of the toughest things I’ve ever done. But so magical to share it with my family.

I created a random name generator for the goatlins in my Dragon Town campaign and I'm making it available for anyone else to use. There are two versions: a printable image and an online generator (perchance.org/goatlinnames).

My latest read. Really good. A reimagining of Huck Finn from the slave’s perspective. I don’t know if this book is everyone’s cup of tea. But for many it will be fascinating, and keep you thinking after it is done.

My local comic book shop has extended #freecomicbookday into a month long celebration called Free Comic Book May. This weekend they were featuring some cool local artists. This was my pickup: a collection of one-page stories focused on mental health. Love it!

Feeling inspired by the "Drawing Monsters" zine from @jpcoovert.bsky.social, I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried drawing a monster I created for one of my final sessions of the Ink RPG by @snowbrightstudio.bsky.social. This was the first time I drew on paper then traced in Photoshop.

Today is the release of my friend’s first book, and it is no coincidence that it is on Shakespeare’s birthday, as his plays are important part of the plot. Go check it out. It is a perfect read for book clubs.
