Liberal of the Kantian variety. Legal, moral and political philosophy. He, she or they are all fine. An it only to my friends. 🌐🇵🇸 🇺🇦 🇹🇼 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏴
The israeli regime in the oPT does not have even one of the three features that distinguish a state of nature from a rightful condition in kantian philosophy. It's meant to obstruct them. Violence against it isn't even revolutionary! It aligns to a *duty*, to form a Rechtsstaat for the first time

So it's not surprising when they do do that. Any civilized person with a persisting sense of human dignity would be extremely violent if subjected to this kind of systemic rights-violation, which is never justified for any reason and for any duration of time.

The elephant in the room here is not lofty ideals that have gone unfufilled, it's not disputed territorial claims, and it's definitely not inconvenience and economic stagnation. The occupation is a racialised dictatorship, the kind of oppression against which people can rightly resort to violence.

they live under a ruthless military dictatorship that has abolished the rule of law specifically for them, raids their homes at night without warrant, murders them in cold blood, throws them around like ping pong balls, abducts them, and drops them in dungeons at a whim, without charge or trial.

I'm probably one of the more tolerant-to-LLMs people, but I legitimately can not conceive of the theory of mind and/or the social life experiences of the kind of person that feels like they're talking to a person when they're talking to chatGPT. I guess people anthropomorphised cleverbot, so...

>You could argue similarly that humans are fish
After all... why not? Why shouldn't I do it?

I'll check it out, thanks for the suggestion

I'm not familiar with it, actually, are you talking about the book by Hudson or something else?

There are prominent tendencies that do so, I just don't describe them as religious fundamentalists

Technically true! We're all cousins on this rock (which explains a lot of things)

The stress of doing something like that would probably kill me for OCD reasons. I would think about it obsessively for months.

You're right, you know, it's really inefficient and RAM intensive to keep so many tabs open. That's why I'm not using tabs, but bookmarks.

Seems like you're not taking the omniscience and omnipotence stuff that seriously! Such theists are chipping away at the absolute until they bring it down to their own all too human level and capacities. It's easier for us to design an eye than a self-evolving universe, after all
November 25, 2025 at 6:41 PM
That seems like a far more natural move to me for someone who believes that the classical theological concept of God is actual. You really think that kind of being would not simply set things up knowing the result over billions of years?

No, they need to make excuses and enable me
