For three years, one Cookie Clicker achievement has evaded me.

Today in totally unnecessary effects for my homepage that I waste too much time on: ✨ animated favicon ✨

Most of the time was spent learning web workers to keep it animating smoothly when the tab is inactive because inactive tabs cap timeouts at 1s and freeze all animations lol

This steam review I wrote is doing NUMBERS. This will be the start of my videogame journalism arc.

Here's what I ended up with:

0. Make sure the elements are border-box sized.
1. Wrap your content in a container
2. Define a scrollbar-width
3. Define a negative margin of the scrollbar width - 1px
4. Set scrollbar-gutter to stable and overflow-y to auto
5. Set z-index to 1 to float over siblings

Spent 3 hours yesterday making what looks like a simple scrollbar. Worth it?? Maybe... I hope so 😭
