✨New Painting✨ ‘Bats and Brugmansia’ 14”x18”, acrylic on wood panel, 2025

This painting is part of my current painting series about poisonous plants. ‘Bats and Brugmansia’ is about the shape-shifting effects of the Angel Trumpet plant (aka Brugmansia) and its influence on pollinators.

I’m an acrylic painter who dabbles in procreate illustration. I have a goal to create 100 illustrations by the end of the year. I’m pacing myself by doing 8-12/month. Here are a few from last months zodiac series.

Here’s a little work in progress picture of an acrylic painting I’m working on. It’s got Angel Trumpets (Brugmansia) at the top with a seraphim angel and Devils Trumpet (Datura) at the bottom and a demon head with a little bottle of poison in his mouth.

The Nepenthes pitcher plant and the whooly bat have a symbiotic relationship. The bat fertilizes the plant with its droppings in exchange for a safe place to hide away.
