I love your recommendations

So.... while I am aware of the problematic nature of FB, I've been able to use it to meet many of my needs.

I curate both my friends list and my newsfeed pretty intensively. I rarely see posts that are full of crazy stuff. I do have a lot of "suggested for you" suggestions, which I systematically delete. I regularly hide ads, which keeps them at bay, for awhile.

I use and value the local community information pages, the bird and gardening groups etc, and haven't seen how the "alternate" platforms could replicate them.

I'm ALWAYS thinking that I'm being, or could be, surveilled, and I rarely post political materials and never engage in organizing, on this or any social media platform.

So. The robots determining "misleading" information are programmed in such a way as to protect the status quo. Removing them... won't change anything, I think.

I have used FB intensively to create and stay connected to community. I value it very much for that.

While I've seen over and over queer, anti racist, pro-Gaza and many other posts be pulled for "violating community standards," and many other, obviously rubbish posts, stay even after being reported.
