Brutality and inhumanity toward immigrants is a vital focus of appeal to a Great Awakening. The moral and ethical challenges that we face are far broader. I will revisit all of this soon.

In the meantime, enjoy Happy Holidays and a joyous New Year.

Three times in his excellent column today David French used the word “decent” or “decency.” I appeal to all readers to stand up for decency and sense and help pull us back from the destination in which we are headed.

What will it take to galvanize an effective united front to confront this dire challenge to the very existence of the republic? How can what already exists be brought to necessary scale?
