Here to discuss about climate

December 10, 2025 at 1:52 PM

My bad.

Well, first it's a big if. Then there is the cooling gas emissions that cannot be avoided.
It's also important to note that in urban areas, it can increase the outside temperature and that it can be costly to use.
It's fair to say that AC can be considered a maladaptation in some context

Weather-related disasters increase over past 50 years, causing more damage but fewer deaths
A disaster related to a weather, climate or water hazard occurred every day on average over the past 50 years – killing 115 people and causing US$ 202 million in losses daily, according to a comprehen...

All of the above points are terrible, but plain language summaries is the shamest of all
March 6, 2025 at 4:20 PM
My bad, it's not carbon neutral, just very low carbon like all the renewable sources.
December 10, 2024 at 5:57 AM
You can't just repeat what you read somewhere else. I'm ready to discuss arguments, but not facts.

Saying that nuclear is not carbon nuclear is false.

You can even see nuclear as a valid mitigation tool in the IPCC report.
December 9, 2024 at 9:06 PM
Land footprint of a nuclear plant is the lowest of all energy sources. And 40 years lifespan is really underestimated comparing to current nuclear plants lifespan.

They are better arguments against nuclear than this.

You have hydrogen storage if you don't have enough hydroelectricity.
December 9, 2024 at 8:05 PM
You have green scenarios with 0% nuclear. Hydroelectricity, battery storage, hydrogen storage can be enough depending on local context.
In other cases, nuclear is a better option.

But I agree, this shouldn't be the main topic. Getting rid of gas & coal is the matter.
December 9, 2024 at 3:30 PM
Solar panel and windmill costs are much higher if you take grid and storage costs. You don't have those with nuclear. You also have seasonal complimentary production sources. It's not just adding single sources.
And decommissioning has already been done and is being done.
December 9, 2024 at 11:40 AM
I don’t know the details of this case and I'm ready to believe nuclear is not a good option for a country which doesn't have nuclear plant and so much sun.

But you have plenty of people with PhD which will tell you that what matters is the cost of the system, not of a single production source.
December 9, 2024 at 8:09 AM
You don't need a doctorate to read scientific publications and share their conclusions. It's meaningless to look at the cost of production, without the cost of grid and storage. They should compare systems with different ratios of energy sources

Is it one more reporting framework? Don't we have too many of them already? ^^
