Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. "It's a bit early to be thinking of an epitaph. No?" will be my epitaph.

Sometimes, interacting with people is like playing social Calvinball. The rules are always changing to gain advantage over others, the rules can never repeat, the scoring makes no sense and doesn't matter to anyone else, and everyone wears a mask.
Since we have ⚡️, I'm learning vulgar Sicilian.🤣

Interesting how swear words directly translate to harmless phrases in other cultures. It can even be different dialects of the same language.

It says how we view life by our heritage. #language #MafiaTheOldCountry

It went from only 13% had power in this area after the 1/24 storm down to 33% without as of this evening. (We're part of that 33%, but progress is progress.) :)

Yup! They skipped past our branch and restored power to twice the number of people than if they had connected us first. We're still doing fine. I approve (though nobody asked). :)

I can see the progress in power restoration, and they're up to our branch, but a bit further is one servicing 4.4x as much people. I expect they'll do the sensible thing and get them connected first. That's too many people in need to focus on our little area. I'd make the same call. :)

Random social media: "Everyone in [my neighborhood] report outages to get NEMEPA to fix us faster."

Selfish. NEMEPA know which groups of meters aren't reporting. Power has to be restored in sequence. We all wait our turn, and there are resources provided—Walmart has showers. :)

#winterstorm We're just 102 of 16K without power still, in a county with 30K people.

Nature's refrigeration is going to help us tonight. :)

Offices closed, but here I am anyway. Cell data unreliable where we live, and transitioning systems means some things are not currently in full automation. #winterstorm

We're lucky. Nature has provided us with its own refrigeration while the power is out. :) Summer storms don't come with that accommodation. #winterstorm

Had to make a jaunt to the office. With as many electric poles in shambles, it'll be a while before we get power. We're still okay.

Odd how *citizens* of North MS fled to the Coast to help with Katrina rescue and recovery, but not hide nor hair of any state resources from unaffected southern areas.

No power but plenty of sunlight through the windows? We got a head start on Spring Cleaning. (We also leveraged the cold for refrigeration mitigation. Doing what we can with what we got.) :)

Are we inconvenienced? Absolutely. (2 days and counting without power.)

Are we handling it? Absolutely.

We were warned last Tuesday, and the majority of us planned.

Who do they interview? The number of people who want others to plan everything for them. Sensational news at its most. #winterstorm

The forest around the house was decimated. (House untouched.) It used to be more difficult to see the sky from these angles. #winterstorm

We all received an announcement of "Office Hours Canceled This Afternoon". It's for training with the new timekeeping system, but I want to throw all critical thinking out into the cold and blame the announcement for me taking the afternoon off. (I'm not doing that, but it's tempting.)

Well generative #AI. That's a nice, lengthy explanation on why 42 in base-13 is 171 in decimal, but you're wrong. In decimal, it's what you'd get if you multiplied six by nine. #h2g2 #hitchhikersguide

The words "Yule" and "jolly" possibly share an etymological root that evolved through different cultures. #etymology #christmas #yuletide

I've tried all kinds of oven fry recipes, and none of them have come close to actual frying. 🤷🏻‍♂️ #food

Here in the USA, let's consider what President Lincoln wanted when declaring this national holiday: to stop seeing other people as monsters in the Civil War.

I'm thankful for what we have in common without regard to what tries to divide us.

Playing a game for a long time over many evenings. Thinking I must be getting close to the end.

Cheevo pops that says: "Completed Act I". 😶

I asked Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot if they would give me the periodic symbol for Nobelium. They both refused. #chemistry #science
