Unfortunately, for work like data science white collar jobs are disappearing so you'd be competing with people who were just laid off from their data science job. A couple years ago they couldn't hire enough but now they're getting rid of as many people as possible.

If shareholders think a lay off is AI related then the stock price doesn't tank, unlike if shareholders think a lay off is due to financial reasons. It doesn't have to be true, it just has to convince enough people.

Job training is how you prepare people for jobs that were in demand 5 years ago. Job training does not set people up for a career when what training is needed constantly shifts. We need sustainable economic growth where workers aren't discarded to make quarterly financials look marginally better.
