Crappy artificial fade for one thing. Cheesy length and hem for another.

Most Dem primary voters aren’t tracking Newsom’s tweets, and the 2026 election will be old news in 2028.

And some pay less. We have an EV and solar, so fuel is free. (If we had to pay the utility it would run us about $200/year.) And the only maintenance we’ve had since replacing a tire two years ago is the occasional car wash.

Much quieter than last year in Sacramento. Possibly due in part to new laws with bigger fines for illegal fireworks, in addition to the BBB.

Unsurprisingly the 12 percent figure is very misleading.

Here is what downtown Sacramento looked like in 1949 before midcentury planners and traffic engineers demolished and displaced a lively and urban Chinese neighborhood.

Our heat pump water heater was about $7k before utility and tax subsidies. It costs very little to run and dehumidifies the basement as a bonus.

New York's (de)congestion pricing, which charges $9 to drive into Manhattan below 60 St, has reduced traffic, increased ridership, reduced subway crime, and is raising funds to fix the decaying transit system. Rare for a public policy to have this many benefits!

EXCLUSIVE: New York’s congestion pricing plan raised $48.6M in tolls during its first month, a strong start that exceeded expectations. The revenue figures, expected to be released publicly on Monday by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, are the latest sign that the tolling plan is working.

🧵 I live in Los Angeles. We have not had to evacuate and are safe, but like many people here, I have friends who have lost everything. I realize I can't combat the firehose (see what I did there?) of bullshit spewing about this disaster from internet and media sources, but I'll say this:
A phone picture looking at an apartment building with a few palm trees in front of it, near dusk. The sky is still blue, but looming behind the building in the distance is an enormous cloud of smoke from the Palisades Fire near Los Angeles. The smoke is stained orange from the sun behind it.
