You may already know this, but it’s a Canadianism that basically any second home at a lake (or even more generally in the woods) is a cottage in Ontario. (In Québec, that’s a chalet. In BC, a cabin.)

I don’t understand why, at the VERY least, they don’t *also* post on the other platforms? Just copy and paste!

I watched it as soon as it was available on CBC and was just waiting for it to be discussed on PCHH! Was so happy to hear you liked it.

A mashed banana works well in some applications (like swapping an egg for a mashed banana in pancakes).

I finally subscribed to the Guardian yesterday immediately after reading the WaPo memos! I hope many others did, too.

I am very late gen x (the couple of years often called xennials) and we also did this

Totally agree on this. I’m in a different country but deleted everything but Bluesky and have an EXTENSIVE muted word list here and still feel (overly) informed. I get that trying to ignore is a privilege, but there’s not a lot I can do other than live my life and help where I can.

Thank you for writing this! It could also be pointed at the (Canadian!) hockey pundits who insist it’s so disrespectful to boo the anthem. Please.

Cool to have a new least favourite franchise/team!

D. I’ve never listened to any bonus content for any of the podcasts I support on Patreon (maybe there’s a way to get it on my podcast app but I’ve never looked into it). I also don’t subscribe to the ad-free streams when they’re offered as I figure creators I like should get double paid.

I’m sure you’ve seen this, but Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries if you haven’t seen it?

I’ve had good success with having an EXTENSIVE list of muted words. I’ve actually been amazed at how successful it’s been! (And if something sneaks through, I add those words to be muted, too.)

I used to get them for days on end when I was a kid. Truly the best thing I ever grew out of, but I still have the fear every time I get them.

Oh and if you can have a friend help (e.g. hold the kitty burrito tight) it’s definitely more manageable so you can focus on the mouth.

The tight towel wrap is your best bet. You can place a finger on either side of the mouth (where it hinges) and her mouth should open. Shove the pill in and then hold her mouth shut. If the liquid tastes bad you can make a sandwich in the syringe (tasty food/meds/tasty food) and get it in quick.

Are you giving them orally? And are they liquid or pill?

I don’t agree with anti-trans bathroom bills *at all* and clearly proponents aren’t arguing in good faith, but there has been decades of scholarship on that idea. e.g. graffiti in women’s bathrooms was compared to men’s due to the private space idea. (But trans women are women so this can continue.)
