Extremely powerful piece by @jonathan-watts.bsky.social. Here, in the Amazon, I have been hearing for 2y the stories of people that lost all their subsistence crops due to the drought. They move to the city to get a badly paid job in order not to starve. Hope is a luxury they can't afford.

In 49 days, COP30 will start. Despite countries' commitments to submit a new NDC in 2025, only 37 have done so. It is expected that this week, a few more will submit them during the UN General Assembly. The deadline was February. Climate change is not a priority.

I was thinking about the temperature too! I think the camera is picking up body heat - in 5min of footage temp increased 6C! Regardless, it would be hot in the Amazon, but not 45C under the canopy.

Does anyone have a hack on how to extrack the side events from the UNFCCC platform so that it is easier to find merging possibilities? At the moment seems like copying and pasting every single event in Word is the only way and that is pure torture. Tips?
