Tapering is exactly what I'm doing. Switched to basic extra-strength Tylenol for the daytime today. Tonight will still use the codeine. After that, I will go just for the Tylenol, unless the pain becomes unmanageable, which it should not at this point.

Snow from morning to night. I have been napping, working and napping some more. It is amazing how tiring all this is, but I'm getting through.

Thanks! So far, so good, and hopefully it will continue that way.

Thank you.. Right now I'm mainly sleeping as my body heals up. But I did a thousand new words yesterday and am aiming for the same again tomorrow.

Unfortunately not. Everything is still under the cast, and will be for the next 6 weeks, so it's a matter of toughening it out until I can get to next steps.

1. Yes, they are. But your statement implied that I did not contribute to that pot, so I corrected you.

2. I am old, tired, and about to go through surgery, so change your tone or leave this conversation.

Nope. I worked in Healthcare. The actual cost for a visit to Emergency in Canada, from triage to admission, is $3,000, which is what you're billed if you aren't on a provincial health plan.

And it's not paid by "other Canadians," it's paid through taxes, including mine. We all pay, we all benefit.

The pain was sudden, sharp, and agonizing and I knew I would not rise again without help. The dragon reared back, ready to flambé me and turn me into supper.

Which is when the truck came around the corner too fast and ended him rightly.

And that is how I hurt my leg. Surgery consult on Monday.

Much fire was cast, much blood was spilled from both, and as I closed in on victory, my sword ready to cut through its neck, it lashed out one last time, its tail slamming into my leg and sending me to the ground.

One by one I faced them down and ended them, until it was only I and the largest of the brood left, on the corner of Davenport and Spadina.

Now, even at full-sized dragons are only 8 feet long, but when they come in a group it can be a pain to destroy them.

Nonetheless, we fought. Up and down the Casa Loma steps, through the wooded hillside, and even into the hallways of George Brown college.

It was a glorious battle. Me against 6 full-sized dragons, breathing flame and slashing with their claws (did you know dragons don’t like biting when they fight? Their teeth are precious to them and they like to keep them polished and clean, save for eating their usual repasts of young children).

Now, I know what you are thinking: “Dragons? In downtown Toronto? Don’t the raccoons wipe them out?”

And yes, generally the raccoons stay on top of the dragon problem, but sometimes the odd nest slips through. Then they call me.
