Oregon visual artist, focused on abstract painting of the Unphotographable. Keen on mountains, astronomy, and cartography.
Art in this series does not mimic photographic-style representations you may see in articles on exoplanets. Rather I aim for the unphotographable: an impression, a dream-like sensation, an abstract mental panorama of conditions or geography on the exoplanet.

When humans visit Wolf 1069 b, they may not recognize warning signs of dangers that humans have never encountered before. The differences in geology, atmosphere, and internal physics of another planet may be more inhospitable than they appear. Not to mention other lifeforms.

Wolf 1069 b is located 31 light years from Earth, making it one of the closest known exoplanets. Wolf 1069 b is considered a potentially habitable planet, in addition to having a mass similar to that of Earth. Wolf 1069 b is tidally locked, meaning one side of the planet is always facing its star.

GJ 251 c is a super Earth rocky exoplanet that orbits a M-type star red dwarf star 18.2 light-years away in the constellation of Gemini. Its mass is 3.9 Earths, it takes 53.6 days to complete one orbit of its star, and is 0.196 AU from its star. Its discovery was announced in 2025.

Luyten b is a super-Earth of around 2.9 times the mass of Earth and receives only 6% more starlight than Earth, making it one of the best candidates for habitability.

Luyten b is a confirmed exoplanet, likely rocky, orbiting within the habitable zone of the nearby red dwarf Luyten's Star. It is the fourth-closest potentially habitable exoplanet known, at a distance of 12 light-years.

Taking the idea in the famous quote “To see a world in a grain of sand and a heaven in a wild flower.” by William Blake & considering a stone on a nearby exoplanet.

My highest calling is making art. I’ve been painting for over 30 years both digital & acrylics. My art reflects my love of nature, cartography, & photography. I see the beauty in most things.

Maps I’ve made were sold at a number of state parks in the Bay Area, and more recent maps such as of Forest Park were published in books or as posters.

In my spare time I shot about 5,000 full 360 panoramas of many parks and wilderness areas around the western US.

Some exoplanets in otherwise habitable zones may have a deadly atmosphere. Imagining curious humans trying to visit the surface.

K2-3 e is 143 light years from earth in the Constellation Leo. It is a super Earth exoplanet that orbits a K-type star and has a mass of 2.1 Earths.

The Kepler space telescope was NASA’s first planet-hunting mission, searching the Milky Way for planets orbiting stars beyond our solar system.

what if the destination planet has an epic catastrophe during the years of intersteller travel?

Teegarden's Star b (also known as Teegarden b) is an exoplanet orbiting within the habitable zone of Teegarden's Star, an M-type red dwarf 12.5 light years away from the earth.

While scenarios have been posited in this series where a spacecraft fails on the way to an habitable exoplanet...

What if we travelled to the nearest exoplanet only to find that it is in a state similar to how the earth was millions or billions of years ago?

Proxima Centauri b is an exoplanet orbiting within the habitable zone of the red dwarf star Proxima Centauri, which is the closest star to the Sun, about 4.2 light-years away. The planet is thought to be rocky and may contain water.
