It was a great privilege to chair the committee for Nazar Boyko’s outstanding dissertation about authoritarian election management. The committee, including Henry Hale, Matthew Jacobsmeier, and Mason Moseley, met virtually for today's successful defense. Congratulations, Dr. Boyko!

I returned home from our campus commemoration of the 3rd anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and found the new book by @avindman.bsky.social in my mailbox. I look forward to reading it!
