One thing people fail to understand.
In 1920, there were about 15 million Jews worldwide, and about 600k Palestinian Arabs.
Zionists were confident that several million Jews would eventually migrate to Palestine, which would have made them a clear majority.

Important piece about the realignment that is taking place in the Middle East as a result of Israel's new "forward defense doctrine." Since October 7, Israel has struck at least 6 countries in the region. Whereas Arab states used to be concerned about Iran, most regional actors now fear Israel.+

I seriously think the details of the Trump plan are far less important than the political dynamics. We saw indications of US willingness to pressure Netanyahu, and US position that the war should end.
If (big if) these dynamics continue and are serious - there will be an agreement, before end of 25

I've seen a lot of people on here in the past day or so repeat the line of "Arabs are Semites, too, so anti-Arab racism is also a form of antisemitism." This is and understandable mistake, given how weird the word is, but it's a misunderstanding of the word.

The media needs to keep in mind that increasingly, the ideologies of perpetrators of mass attacks, assassinations, & terrorism in the US don't fit neatly into boxes. Some are part of subcultures, like the man who murdered Charlie Kirk, who appears to have been a Groyper. Others, notably the 1/2

My review compares Achcar's Gaza Catastrophe to @erikskare.no's Road to October 7. Skare offers a compelling list of Hamas's reasons. Achcar is adamant that Hamas's Islamism has led it to adopt irrational strategies, not just in launching al-Aqsa Flood but in many actions after taking power in Gaza.
