I have long red hair and a bushy red beard and I'm a dirty commie. I love dogs and enjoy brewing beer. I support Arsenal FC. I often get mistaken for a conservative because I criticize liberals a lot, but I am, in fact, a communist.
My above comment is fact so it should be what everybody would say. Now if you could demonstrate how there's a mathematical formula that determines the EPL or UCL title based on summer spending that would be different but you know perfectly well that's not how it works.

I mean he was right about all of the actual numbers, the analysis of the transfer remains qualitative rather than quantitative. So he didn't share misinformation but was he "right"? Who's to say? It's just, like, his opinion, man.

How not? I'm saying misinformation isn't the correct criticism because what people are objecting to isn't empirical information... Seems like a fairly direct answer to me...

More of an obviously incorrect opinion, I reckon, which is really the through line of the whole thread: people framing opinions as though they're data-based observations and not just vibes.

And now we know you're not paying much attention to Arsenal because despite having been absolutely cracker yesterday Ødegaard has not been all that key to our success this year. Also I wonder if you mean that those teams' starting ix would beat ours on the day or for the title, not the same thing.

Lol Wenger's Arsenal... He was with us for over twenty years so saying Wenger's Arsenal is a bit squishy isn't it? Meanwhile, I don't at all agree, the teams you're citing were dominant when football was quite different. Prime Klopp, for example, relied on Gegenpress, which is fairly irrelevant now.

Also Liverpool had Trent actually asking to go, who should Arsenal have sold that was realistically going to offset our spending? Just means we have to be austere going forward but that's probably ok now that we have the greatest team the world has ever seen.

And I would argue that getting "peak value" for outgoing transfers should be a secondary consideration to maximizing the value of their inbound transfer fee through on-pitch contributions but again I am thinking about this in terms of footballing results not moneyball. Man City says hi btw, lol.

Arsenal did better transfer business over the summer, their net spend was well worth it. And we see this borne out in the way the two sides have handled the challenges of the 25-26 campaign. It's not the bloody stock market, it's a football tournament.

Where would he go though? What country would welcome him?
I would like to abolish all prisons except the one Donald Trump spends the rest of his miserable life in. Netanyahu, Orban, Putin and Erdogan can join him.
